The course introduces learners to the nature and challenges around acute and emergency care and interventions at times of conflict. The course also reviews the role of healthcare staff and associated innovations, driven by the settings of conflict. The course then moves to address the major clinical conditions and diseases that may be encountered by healthcare providers, public health practitioners, or policy makers in conflict settings. Finally, the course highlights the challenges related to clinical care of vulnerable populations such as women, children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and health providers.
