From a front-end user point of view, selection of domain (policy, research, medicine etc.), keywords (policy making, preparedness, prediction, etc.) will result in a list of recommended experts with a score (higher score means higher relevance). The retrieved list of experts can be filtered based on gender, location, number of publications, institution, and whether the research is being conducted in conflict or refugee setting. We will also ensure that our ranking model is fair with respect to protected attributes of authors such as gender and location by utilizing fair-ranking algorithms such as FA*IR [47].
