Description
This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to write competitive proposals and detailed budgets. The course also highlights the role of grants as main funding sources in the Non-Governmental Organization’s (NGO’s) fundraising process and will guide participants on how to research and identify potential funding sources, how to match funding sources including philanthropic foundations, private sector, and foreign governments.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners should be able to:
- Develop a sustainability strategy for the NGO with an emphasis on financial sustainability (e.g. diversification of revenues sources, cost containment, etc.)
- Employ effective approaches including identification of and communication with donors and partners, use of effective marketing tools, as well as ideas/projects presentation and pitching
- Develop leadership skills necessary to initiate, build, evaluate, and sustain durable financial partnerships
