What is the difference between an online synchronous course and an online asynchronous course?

The synchronous courses are online live sessions delivered periodically. They are characterized by their interactive and dynamic nature. They are also a great opportunity to network with participants from all over the world.

The asynchronous courses are online self-paced sessions that are always available on our learning platform GHLAD. They are characterized by their flexibility and lack of time-constraints. You may register and attend the course at your own schedule and pace.

Do you offer on-site trainings for NGOs on specific topics?

Yes, we offer tailored trainings for NGOs based on their requested topics, timeframe, and level of expertise. If you would like to request a training, kindly fill-in the following form.

How can I get a discount on the course fee?

There are several ways to get a discount:

  1. By joining NGOi’s network, you can get 20% discount on all our courses. For more details, check the membership details.
  2. By joining NGOi’s mailing list, you will receive announcements on discounts or free registration offers.
  3. If you are an AUB staff or student, you receive 10% discount on all the courses.

How do I know which online synchronous courses are currently being offered?

The synchronous courses are delivered periodically, and they are announced on our events page: https://ghi.aub.edu.lb/events/category/ngoi/list/. If you wish to be added to our mailing list to receive all announcements, kindly fill in the following form.

In which language are the courses delivered?

The synchronous courses are generally delivered in English.

As a course participant, can I receive the course recording for every session?

Course recordings are not accessible to or shared with the participants after the course sessions. So, it is advisable that the course participant is available and attending live the course sessions. However, all course material including the slides, activities’ answers, and quizzes’ answers are shared with the participants after each session.

When will I receive the course certificate?

After you complete the required coursework with a passing grade (above 60), you receive a certificate of completion. Otherwise, in case of unsuccessful completion of the course requirements, you receive a certificate of attendance.

You will receive the certificate as a soft copy via email, and you can pick up the hard copy from our offices.

How can I pay for the course?

The courses fees should be settled in USD. You can settle the payment via a bank transfer or in cash at the Cashier’s office at AUB. All payment details are provided in an invoice shared with you upon registration.

I filled the registration form but I didn’t receive any confirmation, why?

When you register for a course using the registration form, you will receive an email within two working days to confirm your registration along with the invoice to settle the payment.

How do I know which online self-paced courses are currently available?

All NGOi online asynchronous courses are available on our learning platform GHLAD, and registration is always open. You can check available courses using the following link.

In which language are the courses delivered?

The asynchronous courses are available in both English and Arabic.

When will I receive the course certificate

The certificate becomes digitally available on Moodle after you finish all course requirements and pass the assessments (grade above 60).

How can I pay for the course?

The courses fees should be settled in USD. You can settle the payment via a bank transfer or in cash at the Cashier’s office at AUB. All payment details are provided in an invoice shared with you upon registration.

Will my course access terminate after a specific period of time?

No; you have a lifetime access on the courses.

Why can’t I see all the course content once I access the course’s page?

Every week’s content will appear after you finish the requirements of the previous week.

When I try to access the interactive lecture, nothing appears, why?

Most browsers have an automatic pop-up blocker that will not allow the interactive lecture window to open. Kindly make sure to disable the “pop-up blocker” in your browser settings.

Can I exit the course and complete it later?

Yes, your progress is saved, and you can complete the course at a later time at your convenience.
