The COVID-19 Refugee Support Program (CRSP) is a GHI initiative launched in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. CRSP aims to establish and support a community-based network of GHI previously trained Syrian refugee women by equipping them with contextualized and evidence-based information on COVID-19.
This initiative will serve as a pivotal approach to increase the awareness, through a mobile social-distancing application, in an effort to reduce and control the spread of the virus among Syrian refugees and mitigate its effect, allowing them to seek early life-saving care when necessary.
CONNECT (COVID-19 NGOi Network) launched by the NGO Initiative at AUB is a network that aims to serve as a convening platform for NGOs responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in Lebanon, via regional groups. Each regional group is constituted of NGOs serving both Lebanese and refugee communities in a specific area of Lebanon including Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa, North, and South.Through CONNECT, the NGOi will provide member NGOs with contextualized knowledge resources and capacity building based on the groups’ identified needs.
The COVID-19 Arab Monitor is an initiative of the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut which aims at highlighting the response to COVID-19 across the twenty-two countries in the Arab Region. The Arab Region, which is home to a total population of 423 million, has been hit by the Coronavirus epidemic in escalating numbers.
