The course highlights the role conflict plays in re-emergence or spread of infectious diseases.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Topics Covered<\/h4>\n<p>This course provides an overview on the ecology of war and infectious diseases through covering the history and contributing factors of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, sexually transmitted infections (STI) in conflict settings, poor hygiene, and skin infections, along with the basics of infection control practices and challenges in the areas of conflict. It also covers the most common infectious diseases (bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections) in times of conflict with a particular emphasis on those encountered in the Middle East region.
